I’ve never been good at committing to a signature scent, and not for lack of trying. A big part of the problem is, I can’t decide if it’s part of my beauty routine or my getting dressed routine or my leaving the house routine. And I always spray too much or not enough. I want to smell it, but I don’t want to choke — but it always ends up being one or the other.
It’s not that I don’t have fragrances — I have a lot! Probably too many! There’s no clear identity in my collection, no clear story. Having to pick means not picking at all. But time is running out to commit to anything this summer beyond Off! Deep Woods Insect Repellent. (No I have not tried the Diptyque version.)
An honorable mention goes to Cruxe X Oil, which I use in my hair. It smells like campfire (or a fireplace, if you prefer the winter interpretation) and is as close to an all-season signature scent https://go.shopmy.us/p-1985669 Hair makes for a nice, lasting sillage for the scent.
even though every time I spray any bug spray I hear nick parker going «you’re going to attract mosquito in the state with this stuff. It's sugar and water.»

Omg you just unlocked a core memory for me
Skin So Soft
late to this convo, but I hoarded various Bobbi brown beach products when they started discontinuing body oil etc. I will never quit it.
Bobbi Brown discontinued my absolute favorite shimmer brick shade...8 years ago? I still have it lol (bring back nectar!!!)
omg justice for that shimmer stick! happy Bobbi got her dollars but what they did with the company after she sold is a true American tragedy.
But in all seriousness, any attempt I’ve made at buying a “summer fragrance” has failed. Byredo ones, Loewe ones.
clean cashmere is what i'd like the eventual biopic about my life to be called
