Resistance is futile and my will power has entirely crumbled. My browser is full of tabs, my phone is full of screengrabs. I can’t stop shopping (mostly looking, but a few key purchases did sneak through). Beyond my very long list of December gifts to buy, I had a very cadenced personal list: black leather loafers and a black wool coat. I made good use of the Shopbop 25% off offer and grabbed the last pairs of Emme Parsons Danielle Loafers in black embossed croc and the ATP Atelier penny loafers in my size (will return one or both). The coat search is ongoing.
Despite this attempted restraint, what I’m apparently shopping for has ballooned. All of a sudden, I’m on the search for a new TV (the Samsung Frame is the front-runner)! A new record player! And maybe a few sweaters (if I’m on your list, please send Lisa Yang)! But I remain open-minded; a good deal is a good deal. Here’s everything I scrolled in the past 24 hours while I ate leftovers and passively watched football:
These Vince slippers make a handsome gift for a man (or at least a man who’s willing to accept new shoes into his closet, unlike any of the men in my life). Speaking of Vince: Is this sweater as perfect as I think it is? The minimal, 90s cut is haunting me and I’m convinced it’ll solve more than its fair share of outfit quandaries. There’s a similar, likely softer version on Jenni Kayne that I love in the Thunder Grey shade. But if I were a betting woman, I’d put money on me not leaving the weekend without pressing BUY on this Lisa Yang dream. Why is it so hard to find the perfect crewneck?! This sweater promises an answer.
This hasn’t happened to me in years but, I can’t get Reformation out of my head. They’ve really nailed their styling and merchandising and I want just short of everything (25% off and free shipping certainly helps). In particular:
The Vann Cashmere Sweater, also attempting to answer the perfect crewneck question
The Cashmere Boyfriend Sweater, crewneck but oversized
The Arco Cashmere Sleeveless Turtleneck, for my Carolyn Bessette Kennedy cosplay
And THESE JEANS, which may be the perfect jeans?!?
The Jenni Kayne sale (already mentioned once in this newsletter) is positively haunting me. A great destination if you’re looking for gifts (25% off!) — I’ve had these slippers for more than two years and nothing makes me feel chicer when I’m holed up at my computer all day. They also spruce up outfits with a casual luxury when you’re hosting at home. Not to be topped, this fine-gauge cotton throw in Taupe is in constant demand on my couch (the wool-averse love it, plus it’s the chicest blanket in the house). The shade is a perfect greige to compliment any interior decor situation.
I’m a compulsive t-shirt buyer — you always think you’ve found the perfect one and then you try on a different pair of pants and realize you need a completely different kind of t-shirt. I have at least 10 in rotation (I’m probably underselling that number) but this Cheyenne Tee from Skin Worldwide, with its silky drape, has found its way into my cart anyway. As has this perfectly simple long sleeve ribbed Rayne Shirt, which would look very casual-cool poking out from underneath a sweater. I’m still in the market for a perfect Oxford and this Sadie Shirt looks promising. I’m very drawn to the little monogrammed detailing. Not on sale but worth a peek while you’re still on the Skin site: the quilted, padded Sierra Robe was a pandemic impulse purchase that I haven’t regretted for a second. Would make for a great gift!
Everyone is extolling the virtues of the J.Crew Cashmere Socks and I have to say: I don’t agree! I’m sure the J.Crew socks are lovely, but I’ve been buying cashmere socks for years now and let me tell you what that’s gotten me: a lot of socks with holes in them. (I stick to the cotton Family Socks from Falke now.) If you’re going to get a cashmere gift from J.Crew, please make it the Cashmere Beanie. I just bought it and I’ve never loved a cozy hat more. Even my self-professed, all-things-wool-hating boyfriend loves it.
If you’re in the market for a rug, might I suggest Lulu & Georgia (25% off)? It’s where I got my bedroom rug and it makes me feel like a very qualified interior decorator every day of the week. The moody Irregular Grid Rug and the brighter Afella Rug are catching my eye currently.
One of my favorite gifts to give is a set of vinegars from Acid League. They’ve completely changed my cooking game (I make all my own salad dressings and sauces now). Rudely, they are not on sale, but Wonder Valley is! I can’t think of a lovelier gift then some fancy olive oil, but not to be outdone: the Hinoki Body Oil and the Seaweed Body Scrub are luxurious as hell.
And because I can’t help myself: Similar to their Prime Day offerings, Amazon’s Cyber Monday discounts, particularly in the beauty realm, are hard to resist — most notably, the Theraface at 20% off. My whole list is here (and will likely grow).
And I can’t believe it, but I neglected to mention in my previous newsletter that IS Clinical is on sale at Violet Grey. We regret the omission.

Not sure if this newsletter is the target market for this deal, but I have to share that Tevas sandals are on sale for $20 on their website! My whole family impulsively bought a pair yesterday...
